The Public Procurer Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH (FZJ) intends to contract the acquisition, delivery, installation and hardware and software maintenance of a new high-capacity archival solution utilizing tape technology. The contracted solution will be installed in an existing Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) datacenter. It is supposed to provide backup and archive functionality to the ExaSTORE storage system which is utilizing IBM Storage Scale. Both, ExaTAPE1 and ExaSTORE support Europes first exascale supercomputer JUPITER, and have to be integrated into an existing IBM Spectrum Protect setup used for JUST6 and the existing 3 tape libraries at JSC.
